I'm P.B. Model Maker
Since 2017, I have been building models, mainly from the World War 2 era, as a therapy for my mental health issues.
After serving in the Royal Air Force as a medic, joining up in 1986 at the age of 17, and then with the HM Prison Service in 2002 when I was 32, I developed issues with my mental health that resulted in me having to leave full-time work for the first time in 2015. I have not been able to work since.
Building models has been a life-saver, re-building my confidence, re-gaining my cognitive and communication skills through my shows, and giving me a passion for research and story telling. Over the years my collection has not only grown in size, but I have also collected stories which I tell through my models and dioramas. I do not use airbrushing on my WW2 models, only recently on the post-war aircraft, as hand painting helps me to focus my mind better and so help with my mental health.

My aim is to bring to the attention of young and old alike, the history around the air forces of WW2, be they Allied or Axis, and to tell the stories of not just the aircraft but of the men and women who flew them.
